"The Z MAX alows the MC Scow to be a one sail program. The innovative design allows for the full range of shape adjustment needed from light to blowing the top off the lake. It will stretch flat in the heavy air and it can hold at the original full Master's cut. The Z MAX is fast and gives me the confidence to know I won't get caught witht he wrong sail."

"I like my North Z MAX sail for many reasons. For me, it means that I only need one sail. You can make it as flat or as full as you want. It is the right sail for all conditions. While some sails might be fast in one particular wind speed or sailing angle, the North Z MAX is always fast. It is easy to set up your boat on stock measurements and use this sail. No adjustments to the rig are necessary when conditions change.

The sail is quite durable as well. I used one sail all year, some races in horrific conditions, and still won my last two regattas of the season. With 50 racing days on this sail, it still has some value.

In the MC class Eric Hood and Andy Burdick are looked to as coach and mentor by many of us. It is a an advantage when you use a sail that they know".

Z MAX MAINSAIL

The most powerful MC sail available on the market! The Z MAX continues to maintain its status as the most popular and versatile sail on the MC circuit.

Not only is it the most widely used, it is also the most successful sail, winning every major regatta in 2005 and 2006. There is no better MC sail, period.

The unique design incorporated with the soft cloth in the body of the Z MAX allows for the ability to shift gears for different conditions and offers several shapes depending on what you are looking for.

Z MAX Mainsail includes:

  • Custom RBS tapered battens
  • Choice of red, blue, black or green numbers
  • Enhanced vision window
  • Waterproof personalized sail bag
  • Exclusive North Sails laminated “Quick Tune” card for easy tuning reference on and off the water
  • Ultra-lite telltales
  • Class insignia
  • Class royalties

NORTH ZAP MAINSAIL

The designed shape of the ZAP is that of our famous and very successful AP mainsail. However, our flying shape is different due to the “softer cloth” body which is what makes the ZAP so special. The end result is a sail that is incredibly quick in light air or breezy, flat water conditions. The ZAP is a great addition to an inventory as an AP sail for lighter MC racers.

Like the Z MAX we have incorporated a softer sail fabric in the main body of the sail but still have the high quality Contender hard Dacron in the foot and head of the sail. This gives us a sail that has the ability to shift gears for different conditions and offers several shapes depending on what you are looking for.

ZAP Mainsail includes:

  • Custom RBS tapered battens
  • Choice of red, blue, black or green numbers
  • Enhanced vision window
  • Waterproof personalized sail bag
  • Exclusive North Sails laminated “Quick Tune” card for easy tuning reference on and off the water
  • Ultra-lite telltales
  • Class insignia
  • Class royalties

NEW!!! NORTH MEDIUM-HEAVY MAINSAIL

A few modifications were made to our successful AP mainsail to create a mainsail specifically designed for heavier conditions. The name says it all! The Medium-Heavy main will give you the stability and control for when the breeze is up. The Medium-Heavy is a great addition to an inventory as a heavy air sail.

The Medium-heavy Mainsail includes:

  • Custom RBS tapered battens
  • Choice of red, blue, black or green numbers
  • Enhanced vision window
  • Waterproof personalized sail bag
  • Exclusive North Sails laminated “Quick Tune” card for easy tuning reference on and off the water
  • Ultra-lite telltales
  • Class insignia
  • Class royalties

Also available are our famous and still fast hard cloth mainsails, the MASTERS, AP and BIG BOY. Contact the MC Experts for details.

Fast Sails.. Best Quality.

The North MC mainsails all feature this high quality clew path. Serial number, Harken pressed clew ring and teflon capped for smooth foot rope movement.

The North MC mainsails area all finished off like what you see here. Harken pressed ring for the Cunningham so you can really apply the Cunningham in heavy air. Class royalty tag showing the sail has its $10 fee to support the class paid, North logo and teflon capped luff rope for smooth adjustment of the luff.

"I never thought one sail could work for all conditions but the new Z-Max has done the job for me. There's nothing worse than being stuck on the race course when the conditions change and wishing I had brought the "other" sail. When I leave the dock in light or heavy air, I have confidence in my Z-MAX."
